King's in-game ads surged tenfold that year, driving explosive growth in users and revenue. This marked a strategic shift for the company, redirecting their emphasis towards mobile apps, transcending their prior reliance on the Facebook platform. The pivotal year of 2012 witnessed King's launch of the game that would define their identity: Candy Crush. Merely three months later, the Bubble Witch Saga attracted 10 million players-a number that surged to a remarkable 30 million within a year.
